Dietitian visits typically last 45 to 60 minutes based on the needs of the discussion. In this visit, we may explore your history with food, current lifestyle, medical history, and any other factors affecting your nutrition habits in a non-judgmental way. We will go in-depth about your current eating patterns and partner with you to come up with a personalized nutrition plan that fits your lifestyle, food preferences, and health goals. Think of these sessions as a time for us to get to know you and best support you through easy, sustainable changes. Follow-up visits are important to talk through any barriers or successes that you may experience in the process. Nutrition sessions can be done in-person, over the telephone, or virtually by video.
When you start working with a dietitian, you should come prepared to engage and take an active role in the sessions. The dietitian will be reliant on information from you to help partner with you in creating a nutrition plan that will work for your lifestyle.
By working with a dietitian, you will learn how to better manage any nutrition-related health conditions or work toward any nutrition goals you may have.
