Whether it’s starting out your day with a healthy breakfast or drinking more water throughout the day, starting with small changes is the best thing that you can do before working toward larger goals.
To help you make manageable behavior changes, here are a few things you can start improving today:
Drink more water Though it seems minor, drinking more water can help to increase your alertness and flush toxins from your body. Aim to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water every day.
Limit your portions Smaller portions can help reduce overall calorie intake.
Eat slowly and mindfully Take smaller bites and focus on how you feel between bites. It can help you recognize when your hunger has been satisfied.
Load up the nutrients Eating smaller quantities of foods allows you to include of a variety of nutrients. Include smaller portions from at least three different food groups at each meal.
Plan ahead Meal prep makes it possible to have healthy food handy throughout your day, and by portioning smaller amounts, you can prevent overeating in large meals or snacks later in your day.
